Hello and welcome back to the 120 Second Recruitment Podcast I’m joined by Jivago Matsuoka. Jivago your first question is “the best advice you have ever been given?”
Thank you, Callum. Thank you for having me. So I would have to say that the best advice I’ve been given will be from one of my mates in school. Back in university. He would always tell me if I do what’s easy today your life will be harder when I grow older. If you do what’s hard today then your life will get easier as you get older. So I never really took that seriously in school but then as I grew older over the years I do realize that yes there’s no shortcut to success and that if you do work hard and do your best enhance your usefulness then everything else will follow
That’s right hard work breeds success which leads perfectly to your second question “what is the best decision you have ever made?”
So it’s kind of connected to the first one. Basically, the best decision I’ve ever made would be to actually follow that advice. So I did take that advice to heart. If it wasn’t for hard work and I would not be where I am today.
I would have probably never left the corporate world to start my own business, so I’m quite happy with that now it been five years. I know that entrepreneurship is not for everyone due to the long work hours the stress the risk-taking and the unpredictability but a dream job is definitely achievable if you work hard, set goals, make plans and stay focused.
So if it wasn’t for hard work it would probably be very difficult to achieve what I’ve achieved so far today in my career. It’s not over, still a lot of work to do but I’m happy to have followed through and followed that advice.
I think you’ve done really well and obviously, you’ve taken that advice on board. Thank you so much for coming on you’ve been a perfect guest.
