Chris Redmond – 120 Second Recruitment Podcast

Callum Hull:

Hi there and welcome back to another episode of the 120 Second Recruitment Podcast. I am joined by Chris Redmond of Redholt. Chris your first question is “how do you continue to learn in order to stay on top of things within your role?”

Chris Redmond:

I think for me there are two aspects of learning. You know one is reflective and one is predictive. So when I look at the reflective stuff obviously that’s based on personal experience and not just business things. It’s also based on things that are happening in my life and interactions, for example, relationships are massively important when it comes to being successful in the recruitment and that is applicable across the whole spectrum of every interaction in your life, so that’s the first one.

The predictive anticipated learning is trying things out. Not being scared to fail that’s a super important part of the culture that we create at Redholt. That aspect of being confident going forward and if you fall over and graze your knee, get up, learn the lesson, carry on going.

Callum Hull:

That’s perfect and then your second question Chris is “what is one common myth about your profession that you would like to debunk?”

Chris Redmond:

That recruiters are all cowboys! I think that a lot of people have got huge hearts are very generous and are deeply caring about success in their profession, which at the end of the day can only be achieved when they’re representing what other people want to achieve. So I actually think we’re one of the most generous professions that exist at the moment.

Callum Hull:

That’s great! Check out Chris, check out Redholt and thanks for listening to this episode and look out for the next one!
